My wife purchased this to make no-knead bread. All this is a fancy casserole dish. It is a welcome change from the standard white dish, with blue designs on the side. Or my other favorite the white dish with dancing bunnies, or dancing salt and pepper shakers. Before this purple dish, I don't think there have been any other casserole dishes manufactured since 1981.This is a bit oddly shaped, so if you're going to put this away when you're done understand that you will need a big space to do it. In the right colored kitchen, this would look good sitting out.

I love this casserole dish, it just makes me smile when I see it. It cooks great in the oven and travels well also, I love all of the Rachael Ray stoneware I have purchased and this is on the top of my list. Its actually bigger than I thought it would be and holds a green bean casserole or sweet potato casserole just fine with room to spare.
