Description

Pinzon Sole earthenware enhances any tabletop with a burst of color. The Sole, or "sunshine", pattern was designed exclusively for Pinzon by Caleca, a company renowned for making unique Italian ceramics. Sole dinnerware reflects the beauty of the Mediterranean and is entirely hand painted, using non-toxic colors, by skilled decorators. This oval baker features a white interior and an exterior with a radiant orange border and intricate blue floral and green swirl pattern. It's constructed of durable high-fired earthenware coated in a lustrous, lead-free glaze that resists warping and cracking. The multi-purpose piece is ideal for roasting meats, fish, and vegetables and for preparing casserole dishes, lasagna, and desserts. It measures 13 by 8.3 by 1 inches. Complement the baker with Pinzon's Sole place settings, fruit bowls, serveware, and other bakers and casseroles. Pinzon earthenware lives up to the rigors of the microwave, gas or electric oven, and dishwasher. It's made in Italy.

3 out of 5 stars Made in Italy, with imperfections

I ordered this baking dish because it was made in Italy...it looks much as it does in the picture, and is attractive. The interior surface has some bumps [in the ceramic itself] and the glaze is spotty. I wouldn't give it as a gift because it looks like a "second," but it is worth keeping, still; I will use it to hold fruit.

this is a great dish, it easily bakes in the oven and washes up in the dishwasher. the pattern is hand painted, not a stencil or printed piece. I have purchased many pieces of this pattern and love them all. they also work great with my casafina, and pinzon pieces.
