Description

Marinex Glass Bakeware production began over 50 years ago by Santa Marina, the largest glass manufacturer in Latin America. Located in Brazil, Santa Marina has been producing different glass products since 1895. The factory location is close to raw material deposits of boron and sand which is rich in color and quality. During the production process, these raw materials are combined using heat to make borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is resistant to changes in temperatures used in cooking and baking. The raw materials also give Marinex glass bakeware a slight bluish tint consistant throughout all pieces. Marinex Glass Bakeware offers several shapes and sizes that have countless uses in culinary activities and are prominent by their beauty, durability, and ease of cleaning. It can be used to prepare, bake, and serve food as well as to freeze prepared food. It is safe for both conventional ovens and microwave ovens. Marinex Bakeware can go from the freezer/refrigerator to a pre-heated oven where the oven temperature does not exceed 100C or 212F to start. However, Marinex Bakeware should not be used on stovetop burners or over a direct flame. This is a 12.3qt. rectangular baking dish with a plastic lid. I like this glass dish. It is smaller and a little shallower than I thought, but that's because I am used to looking at 13 x 9" pans. The quality is fine.....I'm not sure why the other reviewer said the bottom was not clear. Mine was perfectly clear....it's GLASS.I wouldn't even have noticed the concentric rings if it hadn't been mentioned. It was slight....but noticeable. Pyrex glass dishes are a bit more substantial and completely smooth, but from what I read the Marinex is made of Borosilicate glass, which is much safer. It will not shatter like regular glass. That's why I bought this one. I've only used it once so I can't say much about that. I will update if this dish gives me any problems.

1 out of 5 stars Terrible Quality - Arrived With A Glass Fragment In The Dish

This bake dish is truly garbage. After removing the plastic lid there was a piece of glass inside the dish which wasn't confidence inspiring. The glass is very poor quality since the base of the dish isn't even clear. There's a series of concentric rings in the glass. I didn't even bother to bake with it and since it was inexpensive it's not worth bothering with a return. Avoid.
