This square baker is perfect for roasting vegetables, a game hen or baking your favorite casserole. Use this versatile piece for serving pasta or baking a hearty apple crisp. The Square Baker is also available in Small 7 x 7 - 1 quart and Large 10 x 10 ¿ 2.5 quart sizes. The Quartet look is based on a dish towel that was popular in the Berry region of France at the turn of the last century; the design has a pleasing rumpled look. The rustic lines of this 100 year old pattern are maintained in Pillivuyt's Quartet collection which includes plates in five sizes, rimmed and un-rimmed bowls in four sizes, platters in three sizes, roasters in three sizes and many other pieces. The walls of these dishes, as in all Pillivuyt items, are created with a perfectly uniform thickness for exceptionally even and efficient heat conduction. Pillivuyt porcelain is fired at 2550 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can safely put any dish under the broiler for that final browning or finishing touch.
