This is an excellent server that works well to take hot foods to potlucks and picnics--or to keep food hot if pre-baked for a party at home. It holds the heat very well, especially if you follow the instructions. My only tiny complaint is that the locking mechanism on the lid is not quite as tight or secure as I would like it to be. But it has held during transport--I guess it just makes me nervous that it doesn't lock into place more securely.On the PLUS side, it's easy to spot your pot when you are leaving the potluck! Several friends have oohed and aahhed over it because it eliminates the whole "Saran Wrap/aluminum foil covered dish wrapped in a tea towel in a cardboard box from Costco" approach to keeping hot food hot.I also have kept some cold foods cool in it. The removable casserole dish is very nice and, of course, could be used alone.Overall, a great addition to my kitchen!

Great piece to protect food and keep at good temperature. Easy to transport. Easy to clean. Server did keep food hot for five hours until ready to serve.

These servers are GREAT! I got my son-in-law one as a gift after he used mine. He uses it to keep fried fish fillets warm until all are ready to be carried to the table so that everyone has warm fish. If you plan on carrying cold dishes to covered dish or picnic simply freeze the ceramic dish, put your food in it when you're ready to go and cover. Keeps food cold for hours. Everyone who sees my dish wants to know where I got it.
